Hannah Lynn Cohen is an avid chamber, studio and orchestral musician as well as a violin educator. Ensembles with which she performs include American Symphony Orchestra, American Ballet Theater, American Composer’s Orchestra, the New York Pops and Chamber Orchestra of New York. Her performances have taken her to venues including Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, Ozawa Hall, Symphony Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, The Beacon Theatre, The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Forest Hills Stadium, and the 2012 World Expo in Yeosu, South Korea. She has collaborated with popular artists including Zach Bryan, Andrea Bocelli, The Roots, St. Vincent, and Jason Mraz. She has played under the baton of maestros including the late Bramwell Tovey, Ken David Masur, George Manahan, Mei-Ann Chen, and Steven Reineke. Additionally, Ms Cohen’s chamber music performances have taken her to numerous countries including Chile, France, and England.

Ms Cohen began her violin studies at the age of four and at the age of seven, she fell under the guidance of the late violinist and maestro Joseph Silverstein.  Mr. Silverstein mentored her until his death in 2015. Mr. Silverstein introduced Ms Cohen to Betty Jean Hagen whom she studied with for years. Prior to college, Ms Cohen studied with Wendy Sharp. She received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Boston University School of Music where she was a student of Peter Zazofsky. She spent a semester abroad at the Royal College of Music and studied with Jan Repko as well as being coached by all four members of the Harlem Quartet. Ms Cohen recently received both her Master of Music in Violin Performance as well as her Artist Diploma from New York University Steinhardt School where she studied with both Kurt Nikkanen and Cyrus Beroukhim and was an Adjunct Instructor of Violin studies.

During her summers, Ms Cohen has attended numerous chamber music festivals including National Music Festival, Orford Music Academy, MusicAlp International Academy of Music, and the Tanglewood Violin Workshop. Ms Cohen has had the experience of playing in many Master Classes including one’s taught by Joseph Silverstein, Nathan Cole, Daniel Philips, Bayla Keyes, and Robin Sharp.

Ms Cohen currently resides in New York City. She has a growing private violin studio as well as teaching for City Strings and Piano NYC.
